Viva Mexico!
After traveling to Mexico for a friend’s thirtieth birthday a few summers ago, I couldn’t wait to plan a trip to go back! Mexico is a magical place full of culture and love and food and history. It is also an incredible place for a quick reset, a relaxing trip with friends or family to unwind. We stayed in a HUGE Air BnB in Puerto Vallarta in June (equipped with A/C, spiral staircases, a private chef, and a beautiful pool) and took day excursions for boating, ATV rides, and serious beach bumming in the sun with cold cervezas in our hands! I was so thankful that a few of us spoke *okay* Spanish when we went and the locals were so patient with us regardless, mostly thankful that we tried our best. On our last night we ate an unforgettable dinner at Makal, the first restaurant in Puerto Vallarta to earn a Michelin Star. I’m still dreaming of their pink mole and mushroom ceviche.
I began planning this itinerary for a friend who wanted to travel with her family for Thanksgiving this year and thought I’d share a downloadable accommodation option list, activity list, and map here. The itinerary I planned is for 4 days to explore the cities and beaches of Sayulita, Bucerías, Punta Mita, and Higuera Blanco. Obviously a Thanksgiving trip has a bit of a different vibe than a trip to Mexico in the summer, but the weather is projected to be gorgeous (83℉!) and it sure would be a great opportunity to start new holiday traditions.
